WBU Position on C-Band Spectrum
In light of initiatives by the FCC, OFCOM in the UK, and other national administrations concerning potential C-Band Broadcast Spectrum (3.7 to 4.2 MHz) reassignment for 5G, the World Broadcasting Unions (WBU) is expressing their concerns over program collection and distribution and the potential impact on hundreds of millions of viewers around the world.

Morwen Williams Appointed as New Chair of WBU-IMCG
The World Broadcasting Unions (WBU) International Media Connectivity Group (IMCG) has appointed Morwen Williams, Head of UK Operations for BBC News, the new committee Chair, effective July 1.
“I’m hugely honoured to have been invited to do this and look forward to working to take the IMCG to even greater successes,” states Williams. “The challenges and opportunities around connectivity for broadcasters have never been more so than at present and it will be inspiring to work with so many great colleagues on these issues.”

For those who work in the radio field, a new web domain is available: .radio. In place of, or to supplement, your .com, .radio is for radio broadcasting companies, internet radio stations, individual radio employees, radio vendor companies, and amateurs. This initiative began with the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and is supported by all of the EBU’s sister broadcast unions.
